Besides, this result is alsoconsistent with Klesges, Klem, & Bene (1989) finding. They have suggestedeating behavior can predict in gender difference. Since, female are more dissatisfied with their body weight andshape than male so eating behavior will become difference (Klesges,Klem, & Bene,1989). In addition, in present study, theresearcher shown that three domain in eating behavior relate with genderdifference. First, the result shown that both of male and female are high incognitive restraint eating behavior.
The cognitive restraint eating behavior isindividual is conscious control of food intake with concerns about body image (French, Epstein,Jeffery, Blundell, Wardle, 2012).Therefore, students be awareness the eating behavior and understand negativeeating behavior cause body health and weight. Second, the result shown thatemotional eating behavior in male and female is moderate Since the studentswill join the cocurricula to reduce the stress that affect the students hasgood emotion in daily. The stress can influence the student’s mood in eating.
The negative emotion can cause students to eat more to reduce the stress (Kuessous, 2009). Third, the result shown that uncontrolledeating is moderate in male and female. The students sometimes will beuncontrolled in eating because of the environment factor such as near arestaurant, celebrate party or friends invite to eat outsides. However, students will the physically activities to maintain body weight to prevent theobese. 5.1.3Research Hypothesis3: There is a correlation between gender difference and obesity among in TunkuAbdul Rahman University College (TARUC)The third hypothesis shown that thereis an insignificant relationship between gender and obesity among TARCstudents. The result consistent with research conducted by Kruger, De Bray, Beck, Conlon, & Stonehouse(2016).
They find that few of factor can affect body mass index related eating behaviors in male and female (Kruger,et al., 2016). The factor that researchersmentioned is environment factor and individual factor. The environment factorwas having area parks, sidewalks, affordable gyms makes and near supermarket,it for people to be physically active and eating fresh fruits and vegetables. In present study, the students will do physicalactivates by useing TARUC sport facilities to prevent obesity. Besides, studentsalso easy to get the fresh fruit and vegetable around the college.
Therefore, students will eat more the fresh fruit and vegetable that can preventobesity. Inaddition, this result also consistent to (Silha, Krsek, Sucharda, & Murphy, 2005). They find that genderdifference and eating behavior can influence by the individual factor.
The individual factor can bestress level of individuals, emotional and poor sleep in daily. The individualwho poor sleep can cause the body weight because hormones that are releasedduring sleep control appetite and the body’s use of energy (Silha, Krsek, Sucharda, & Murphy, 2005). The appetite of the individual also isimportant in affect the body weight. In present research, the students in TARUC can be under stress causepoor sleep in rush assignment and the midterm test.
Therefore, students have anegative emotion cause mood and appetite in eating the food. 5.2Conclusion of resultAs a conclusion, the first research hypothesis, is there correlation between eatingbehavior and obese among in Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TARUC) is nosignificant because other factor can cause students in eating behavior and bodyweight. The secondresearch hypothesis, is there gender difference and eating behaviour among in Tunku AbdulRahman University College (TARUC),result in both females and males are have consistent result in previous study. The female and male have a different eating behaviour in daily. Last but notleast, the third research hypothesis, is there gender difference and obesity among in Tunku AbdulRahman University College (TARUC),the findings had indicated the no consistent between these two variablesbecause students will keep body weight to look beauty and take care the bodyhealth. 5.2.
1Justification of Finding to the Background, Aim, Hypothesis In the present, researcher find obesity become an issuein Malaysia. In Malaysia, obesity tend to young people so young people have ahigh risk health problem. Besides, theresearch conduct by Lowe and Timko (2004)mentioned that obesity have high risk suffering in diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, hypertension and stroke, and certain forms of cancer. Therefore, in present study, researcher wants to find out the relationshipbetween eating behavior and obesity among college students. However, in thisstudy shown that there is no relationship between the eating behavior andobesity among college students.
On other hand, in this study researcher also set othertwo hypothesis that are the gender difference and eating behavior and genderdifference and obesity. Since, first hypothesis is insignificant in eatingbehavior and obesity. In second and thrid hypothesis of difference and eating behavior is significantbut gender difference and obesity is insignificant This reason is due to the maleconsume more calories than female because maletend to more muscular, and muscle burns more calories than fat (Soo,Shariff, Taib, and Samah , 2008). Besides that, the female experience more food-related conflict than men in that they likefattening foods but perceive that they should not eat them (Rolls, Fedoroff, & Guthrie, 1991). In this study, research find that both genderstudents will join the cocurricular activities to increase the physical activitiesto prevent the obesity.
