In other word, these capsules were engineered to provide a ring of T-cells around graft like “invisibility cloak “against thebody’s immune system cells.This study is a new model which has targetingthe key challenges in the success of islet transplantation with the idea of acancer model that demonstrates the favorable effects of immune alterations inthe transplant milieu and suggests a unique strategy for minimizing systemicimmunosuppression and promoting islet allograft survival.
